Impact Cad 5 Crack Fix

to combat soil cracking, it is advisable to re-locate the planting beds or trenches away from the edges of shrinkswell soils. in addition, if planting is necessary to be done in the shrinkswell soils, it is advisable to grow crops with longer root systems. when it comes to sugarcane, it is advisable to plant the crop in deep (10-12cm) trenches. in such a way, the roots will not be affected by the soil cracks. moreover, sugarcane roots can penetrate into the cracks without being hampered by the cracks (cullen 2011 ; mokhtari et al. 2011 ). on the other hand, for rice, the roots should be planted closer to the edge of the soil (within 2m). the roots can penetrate the cracks with minimal effect on the roots (mokhtari et al. the study by ramasubbarao et al. ( 2011 ) showed that the addition of 5% (w/w) of sugarcane bagasse biochar to the soil, decreased the soil resistance index (r x-ray) value by 13.64%. this means that the soil, with the amendment material, is weaker and it is susceptible to cracking. with no addition, the soil r x-ray increased by up to 16.32% after 2 years of cultivation. the r x-ray value increased significantly for all the treatments after 2 years of planting (p

another important factor is the ph value of the soil. as most crops are sensitive to alkaline soil, it is advisable to add amendments to the soil that will make it more acidic (ellis et al. 2010 ). the application of 10% of uncharred sugarcane bagasse lowered the soil ph by 0.25 units. on the other hand, the application of 10% of uncharred rice husk or charred sugarcane bagasse lowered the soil ph by 0.33 and 0.34, respectively. the application of the biochar reduced the soil ph by 0.25 units for all the treatments. this shows that the addition of the biochar to the soil makes the soil more acidic and this makes it less prone to cracking. the soil ph decreases as the amount of biochar increases, because the application of the biochar reduces the amount of exchangeable bases, thereby lowering the soil ph. generally, the soil ph is very important for the growth of different crops as it influences the availability of nutrients and affects the enzyme activities. however, for sugarcane and rice, the application of biochar does not adversely affect the soil ph (ellis et al. 2010 ; zong et al. 2014 ).
